AQ 144
Description
AQ 144 is a liquid metals precipitant, effective in precipitating low concentrations of
heavy metal ions from industrial aqueous effluent. AQ 144 is recommended as a polishing treatment for effluent containing 10-500 ppm total metal ion, but should also be considered as an alternative to inadequate conventional techniques for precipitation of much higher levels of metal ions. AQ
144 is extremely effective in precipitating copper even from solutions containing complexed or chelated copper. It is also effective on other metals including cadmium, chromium (III), gold, iron, magnesium, mercury, nickel, silver and zinc. AQ
144 is not recommended for aluminum, arsenic, chromium (VI) and molybdenum.

Application
In general, it will require 2 to 15 parts of AQ 144 per part of most metal ions. For water streams containing several metals, the AQ
144 required is determined by adding the requirements for each individual metal. Laboratory evaluation of the effluent to be treated is recommended to determine the optimum level of AQ
144.

Handling and Storage
As with any chemical, this product should be handled with reasonable care. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not take internally. Settling will occur after a short period of storage. Drum agitation is recommended before and during use.
